| Because of the expanding collection of locomotives and coaches the Club 760 had to look for a possibility to protect it from weather, because the vehicles stood outdoor near the station Murau. After a long search some ground could be leased near the Murtal Railway station Frojach-Katschtal, Styria and at whitsunday 1975 the basement was laid for the hall of the narrow gauge museum. In Summer 1978 there was the construction of the steelframes. As there were a lots of donations, the hall could be finished, so that all non operating engines and the SKGLB lounge car have a protecting roof now. |

| The museum in Frojach has three tracks
and a connection to the Murtalbahn. Every trunk has a length of 29 metres
(about 95 ft.) under roof and can be used for placing up to 9 vehicles,
depending on their length. The connection between museum and line was
built by the StLB and is leased to the club for a symbolic leasing rate.
For personal reasons it is not possible to open the museum regulary.
Only at one or two weekends in the summer it will be opened. For groups
it is possible to visit the museum, if it will be announced soon enough.
You can announce it by writing a letter or mail or calling the number
of the Taurach Railway (Frau Anny Matula) 0043 (0) 6472-7088. Because some of the engines in the museum are serviceable again in action at different railways ( for example the U 11, 83-076) the Museum had been an ideal place for the coaches of the Taurachbahn in the wintertime. But now after the building of the great hall at Mauterndorf there is a lot of place in the museum, maybe, for further exhibits, if the club will get some in the future. |
